Artist's Comments

I went to my neighborhood park today, to get some more bird pictures, and saw this interesting little bird sitting on a twig, and so I took some pictures of it, and some other birds like this, edited some of them in photoshop, and this was my best one.

BTW, due to the way I saved this, this picture looks best in full view.

Enjoy!

I do have stock photos in my gallery, and an easy way to see my stock photos, one of the folders in I have in my gallery, is specifically for my stock photos. This picture however, is not one of my stock photos, and is not meant to be used by anyone other than me.

If you want to show me something I should do to make this picture better though, plz send me a note to ask me for permission to edit this picture, and wait for my ok. Odds are I'll give you permission, I just want to make sure I know who's editing my pictures and why.

-----------equipment info----------

Camera: Pentax K100D DSLR
Lens: Quantaray LD 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 Tele-Macro
Filter: Quantaray 62mm DMC-UV
Monopod: Manfrotto 680

EDIT: I've now upped the contrast a bit, so again, If this still doesn't look any better, please let me know, and I'll put the previously edited picture back on here.

UPDATE: I just found out what this particular bird is called, and it is a Willow Flycatcher

EDIT(x2): I've lightened the bird's head and upped the contrast a bit more, so if you think it looked better before, just let me know, and I'll switch it back to it's previous edit.

It is very hard to take a really crisp photo of a bird. I think you've done a great work. Good focus, the composition is nice too.

Gosh, this is a very nice bird photo. The composition is lovely, it manages to make a LBJ look good.. :)

Thanks! So, what's an LBJ?

You're welcome. An LBJ is a 'little brown job'. Wildlife photographers quite often use the term.

Ah. I see.

I hope you don't think of this as a dull LBJ...

What a cute little guy :D. A very nice shot indeed! I always have trouble getting pictures of birds without scaring them away

Super Awesome Contest!

Thanks! ^_^

Three of the things that I found that worked, was a zoom lens, wearing all neutral colored clothes, and staying as relaxed, and patient as I could.

You're welcome!

Sounds good :D. I bet covering yourself in birdseed would work too!

 You could, but you probably shouldn't apply it near your eyes, or they could blind you by pecking at your eye(s) Of course you'd still be bleed, but at least you could still see things like whether or not it was worth it to cover yourself in birdseed... Of course really, if I saw someone covered in birdseed, I'd totally laugh...(not to be mean or anything, it just would be a bit stupid to actually do that, unless you were covered in some sort of armor...)
