I went to the aquarium of the pacific, shot some birds, and this was my best one from that day.
Here's the close up version:  I do have stock photos in my gallery, and an easy way to see my stock photos, one of the folders in I have in my gallery, is specifically for my stock photos. This picture however, is not one of my stock photos, and is not meant to be used by anyone other than me. If you want to show me something I should do to make this picture better though, plz send me a note to ask me for permission to edit this picture, and wait for my ok. Odds are I'll give you permission, I just want to make sure I know who's editing my pictures and why. EDIT: I've cloned out the white spot on the bird's chest, so hopefully, it should look better now. EDIT(x2): I've added a border, so hopefully this picture should look better now. Comments Great shot! I wish you had made the larger view larger.

It's absolutely amazing, you've captured so much detail!!! -- [GALLERY] yep! Originally, I cropped the other one so it could be an avatar for me to use, but then I decided that it looked equally as cool as a picture, and now it's in my top 5!
And it's sad that this one isn't getting the same kind of attention as the other one... because I like them equally, but for some reason,(I guess because of the way I cropped it) this one gets like 1 fave for every 8 faves the other one gets... -- How to become more popular, without really doing anything: [link]  Wow, is it a parrot? Critiques
However...I personally love animals and seeing them up close like this is always a joy, especially when it's such a beautiful bird like this one. The colours are lovely (though sharpening the image could help them, because they are blending into each other at the moment - see the beak in particular), and the grey background adds a wonderful contrast.
A very pretty image, nice effort
Originality: Admittedly it is hard to be that original taking a photo of a bird, but I have seen many photos of similar birds in this style.
Technique: The photo is very crisp and in focus which helps made the gird stand out a little more, however in some places near the edges it is slightly out of focus, maybe a larger DOF could have helped here. I think a more interesting angle or style could make this photo even better.
Impact: The colors certainly stand out and help give this image a really big impact. The background doesn't really please me that much and takes away from the impact. I am not really sure what you could do (apart from trying a different background) to improve a similar photo in the future.
